Yoga For Kids!

I have a passion for introducing kids to the vibrant, accepting, fun-loving and peaceful world of yoga. Yoga for kids is a unique tool that accomplishes multiple beneficial skills all at once. I get kids moving whilst also using their imaginations/creativity, staying present/mindful, building strength and improving concentration. My classes are carefully crafted to send a message to kids of gratitude and community. We get our hearts pumping, and creativity flowing. Also, I am all about positive reinforcement. We truly don't know what our kids are going through in school, outside of school, mentally, emotionally and so on. Sometimes the positive reinsurance makes all the difference in someones day. I believe that when you send a kind message out its bound to come back to you in some way!

My Lesson plan!

I always begin class with lots of enthusiasm, an ice breaker and mindful breathing. Then, I like to get the kids MOVING. We move through a vinyasa flow class, including 30+ new and easy yet effective poses. Building strength, getting our hearts pumping and energy flowing. A little while after we play some yoga related games. This is a great chance for kids to get to know the poses better and have positive interactions with their fellow classmates. Class is ended with a craft related to gratitude and appreciation for all the happiness life has to offer. I will provide all the arts&craft materials. During this time, I will be providing some live music on my violin and kids will have the option to sing and dance whilst I play!

My classes are designed to fit either a 45 minute or 60 minute time slot. Send me an inquiry to find out about pricing!

My Approach

I believe that every child learns differently but could also benefit from multiple styles of learning. You may notice, I include a lot of visuals in my classes. From colorful poster boards, to yoga pose cards to even my vibrant yoga mats, I like to keep things visually stimulating and intriguing. Im big on music and sounds too. I give character/animal names to all my poses. Sometimes, I'll even link them together into an engaging & fun story or song. As much as I love talking and educating kids, it's also important of them to voice their own opinions and questions. Throughout my classes, I try to give lots of chances for everyone to be heard! I'm all about positive reinforcement and encouragement.

Aligning Meal Times

Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. Now, it is completely safe to practice after a light snack or an hour after breakfast/lunch. My favorite time to practice is before lunch/late lunch or an hour or 2 after my last full meal!

What My Package Includes

I provide clean and sanitized high quality mats for each and every kid during the class. I also provide hand sanitizer to kids before and after each lesson. Props such as blankets, blocks, stuffed animals, stretch bands and so on are provided and sanitized/frequently washed by me. There will also be a JBL speaker pumping out high vibe and relaxation music. Arts and crafts materials such as colorful paper, crayons stickers, poster boards and of course, my live violin playing!
